Official Ways for Disabling
Notepad++ provides an official way to disable updates, see [1].
Support by Update Freezer
Update Freezer disables Notepad++ updater by renaming GUP directory [2]. Original directory path and renamed path are the following:
- %PROGRAMFILES%\Notepad++\updater
- %PROGRAMFILES%\Notepad++\updater_disabled
Note: Supported since version 1.7.
Drawbacks of Update Freeze
By disabling automated updates you have a risk to stay unprotected from vulnerabilities covered by regular maintenance updates of software.
